Hi! My name is Katherine Fix, but everyone calls me Katie. I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying journalism with a focus in political communications, along with minors in environmental justice and social and economic justice. After graduation, I plan to attend law school and eventually practice environmental law at a large firm.

I am especially interested in the way law, business and environmental issues overlap. I believe development and environmental protection do not have to be treated as mutually exclusive, and I am interested in the decisions that determine how the two work together. When I’m not working, I am probably watching college basketball, listening to Noah Kahan or Phoebe Bridgers, reading the Hunger Games for the 5th time, or trying to convince myself that I enjoy running. I am also trying to visit every national park and always in search of a new edition of The Secret Garden.
